For decades, the RAM 1500 has been a workhorse truck perfect for both everyday commutes and completing the toughest jobs. The new 2025 RAM 1500 redefines what it means to be a powerful pickup truck with the introduction of the High-Output 3.0-liter Hurricane engine. Here at Blaise Alexander Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM of State College, we are happy to share information about the 2025 RAM Hurricane specs.

Two Different Variations

When you buy a 2025 RAM 1500 truck, you have several different variations to pick from, and this includes several powertrain options. The Hurricane engine comes in two different tunes. The base version is the 3.0-liter Hurricane, which is good for 420 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque. With this engine equipped, you can tow up to 11,500 lbs and haul a maximum payload of 1,980 lbs.

If you need even more power, level up to the High-Output 3.0-liter Hurricane engine, which ups the ante with 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. Tow up to 9,920 lbs and carry a payload of 1,520 lbs with this beast.

Built RAM Tough

Both Hurricane engines are made from a lightweight, high-strength aluminum alloy. It features a dual overhead camshaft design, variable valve timing, and direct injection. These advanced technologies work in harmony to deliver exceptional performance and efficiency. The Hurricane engines also boast multiple add-on features, such as a stop/start system, an active exhaust system, and a performance exhaust system.

Alternate Pentastar® Engine

Finally, in addition to the Hurricane engine options, the 2025 RAM 1500 also has an available 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine with eTorque. While the horsepower and torque aren’t as high, it features the highest payload capacity of 2,370 lbs.
